Hi. I’m Lauren.

I’d like to take a moment to share my heart with you.

As far back as I can remember, I’ve wanted to be a mother. As a little girl I would play house for hours upon hours pretending to be a mom and taking care of my babies. As I grew older, I always volunteered to work with the children at church and my first job was as a babysitter. I even chose a career that allows me to teach children, helping them to grow and reach their full potential.

So many decisions in my life have revolved around becoming a mom. I remember on one of my first dates with my now husband, Justin, seeing him interact with his niece and I knew that he would be a great father.

I’m so excited about becoming a mother! The more I think about it and the closer we get to starting this process the more excited I get. I often find myself thinking about holding my child as they sleep and memorizing every detail of it. And I can’t help but to smile as I think about hearing the first time they call me mommy or how my heart will melt when they tell me, "I love you." Being able to come alongside them as they play, exploring the world around them, and cheer them on supporting them as they discover and pursue their dreams while celebrating old traditions and making new ones along the way would be a dream come true.

Most importantly however, I want to teach them about Jesus, take them to church, and help them to become a light in a world with so much darkness.

I know that being a parent is hard, and both Justin and I will be challenged in ways we will never be able to imagine, but I know that with the help of God, the love of our family, and the support of our friends we will be able to achieve our dreams.

Justin Hatch

Hi, I’m Justin. When I think about my childhood, I remember playing catch with my parents, celebrating the small achievements, and creating special traditions. I’ve always wanted to be able to have these things with my own children one day. Being the dad that cooks breakfast on Saturday morning, teaching my children to fish, and being at every practice and game cheering them on is something that really excites me about fatherhood.

As I have grown, I have realized the impact that fathers can have on their children. It is so important to me to be able to help cultivate a love of others and desire to help those in need no matter what. I want to be able to help my child navigate this world according to Micah 6:8 to "do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with [their] God."

I think what I look forward to most are the small moments with our child – the holidays and seeing the joy on their face as they open presents, and the memories we’ll create as a family whether it’s teaching them to hammer a nail or skiing down the bunny hill [or black diamonds].

As Lauren and I start this journey, we’d ask that you pray for us, and if you’re able to, please donate to help us become parents.
